KAKI was first set up as a single business entity in 1992 engaged in freight transport sector as a sole proprietor owned by Mr. Kahsay Kidanu, now a major shareholder. The company was later incorporated as a plc in 2003 by Ethiopian family shareholders.

Established as Private Limited Company (import & export business, freight transport)

2004

Became an importer of vehicles (parallel) and commercial goods.

2005

Opened the first aftersales service and car body work shop

2007

Started importing spare part for Isuzu and other vehicles

2012

Opened outlet for vehicle sales and started distributing tire for trucks.

2013

Started custom clearance and freight forwarding business

2014

Diversified its business by investing in Banks and Automotive Industry.

2016

Started Assembling Trailer

2017

Became official dealer and assembler of ISUZU trucks in Ethiopia.

2018

Opened Aftersales service center as per Isuzu service standard.

2019

Established Isuzu Car Assembly plant and assembled the first Isuzu in Dec, 2019
